TRIPLE HELPING OF TOURING CAR ACTION AT CROFT IN 2023

15 Feb 23

Croft Circuit is gearing up for a very busy year which includes not one, not two, but three action-packed meetings featuring both modern and historic Touring Cars in 2023.

Headlined by the annual visit of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship on July 29/30, Britain’s premier four-wheeled motorsport series speeds into Croft at the start of the summer holidays with three blockbuster encounters not to be missed.

That will be followed on August 12/13 with a two-day BARC meeting of Classic Touring Car racing, featuring the amazing Super Touring cars of the 1990s, which will be a throwback to the best saloon car action of yesteryear, featuring great cars and legendary drivers.

Prior to that, however, as a mouth-watering starter will be the TCR UK Touring Car Championship which takes place as part of the BRSCC meeting on May 6/7. Featuring a capacity grid, the meeting forms the second round of the series which boasts an incredible prize fund of £75,000.

Featuring production saloons powered by 1.75 – 2-litre turbocharged engines, cars are built by manufacturer-approved constructors to comply with carefully controlled technical regulations and FIA homologation. It’s the first time since 2019 that the series will have visited Croft and as it continues to grow globally with events in over 30 countries, meaning race fans are in for a special treat as part of the extended bank holiday weekend for King Charles’ coronation.

Former BTCC front-runner Chris Smiley is one of the star drivers who will be in action in his Honda Civic as he looks to defend the title he won last year, whilst Yorkshireman Bradley Hutchison will be aiming to show that the underdog can prevail on home ground as he returns for his second season with the family-run MPH Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR that he drove in 2022.

Tickets start at a bargain price of just £16 per adult each day with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free. There is free parking and free paddock access toof.
