BARC Heads to Croft This Weekend - 6/7 August 2022

01 Aug 22

Over the weekend of August 6 & 7, Croft will host the 7th and 8th rounds of the 2022 2CV Parts.com Championship. These iconic French cars with tiny 602cc engines may not be the fastest but often put on the closest racing of the day. Watch out for 2, 3 or 4 cars side by side into and through the bends. Close slipstreaming is also vital for competitive lap times.

The Championship is currently headed by Nick Crispin with 520 points. There are 2 x 100 points available at Croft and just 100 more at the final round, the CITROEN Classic 2CV 24-Hour race at Snetterton over the August Bank Holiday.

Nick is chasing his first ever Championship. Right behind him are David O'Keeffe, Gary Adnitt and Lien Davies, all past Champions making the competition very intense. Father and son team Sandro and Luca Proietti have a fast car although their season has been spoilt by bad luck. Having been chief mechanic at the successful team Tete Rouge for many years, Andrew Bull has got behind the wheel of a 2CV for the first time ever this year and he’s excelling.

Chris Yates, Nick Roads and Simon Turner are the other drivers in the 22 car field who still have a chance of the Championship. 2CV racers are a very friendly bunch and do go and have a close look at the cars and chat to the teams in the paddock. The iconic CITROEN 2CV racers are well into the 32nd season with their last two frantic sprint rounds. The final round is the 24 Hour race over the Bank Holiday weekend at Snetterton.
